The Chelsea Clan of storks are no different from any other family; they have a full range of characters!

The Chelseas can be seen on Castle Land, an island that includes a huge castle, which houses all of the storks' nests. The Grand Marshal and Queen Mum found the castle long ago as they hunted for their first nest. The Village and The Meadow are also located on this island, which can be found in children’s dreams. All creatures on the island remain well hidden from wakeful eyes.

Once asleep, children can use a special Chelsea phone to contact any one of the Chelseas. Children call the storks when they are ready to come and play on the Castle Land playground. A stork is sent, by magic, to children's bedrooms. Then, inside their dreams, children can leave their beds and climb onto the storks' backs. Once children have put on magic seat belts, made of stars, they fly safely to Castle Land.

The storks go swiftly, flying high in the sky, before landing on the island.  There is a shuttle bus that takes children from the runway to the very special playground. Each child experiences the playground in his or her special way.

By morning, these same children are found safely tucked in their beds, well rested and ready for another day of adventure.

You may wonder how and why this fantastical playground was created.
Father Chelsea's top hat is blue.  He is very proud that his son, Chelsea, bravely crossed into the world of humans to bring the gift baskets to hospitals near Atlanta.

The Baby Chelseas toddle along in their favorite outfits, smiling at everyone they meet.

Sister Chelsea wants to be like her friend Alex, who is a princess on the island. Alex is often seen dancing from star to star in her pale silver toe shoes. Rather, than wear a top hat, like many of the other storks, Sister Chelsea decorates her head with multicolored feathers. Sister Chelsea tiptoes in, wearing ballet shoes and a hot pink tutu.

Brother Chelsea loves to tap dance. He prefers the flashy dress and look of the "Ritz."  He decks himself out in a black tux, top hat and shiny patent leather tap shoes to click across the floors.

Uncle Chelsea loves the Irish and their emerald isles. He enjoys speaking in an Irish brogue. There is no mistaking Uncle Chelsea in his green tux and top hat. He frequently flies in and out of Ireland, especially on St. Patrick’s Day.

Aunt Chelsea is unique in her own rights. She goes with the flow and believes "When in Rome, do as the Romans". If Uncle Chelsea takes her to Mexico she will wear a sombrero.
Foster and Jimmy, the Eagles, are brothers who were cared for by the Chelseas after the loss of their own parents. Both eagles quickly became a permanent part of this wonderful stork family.

Due to his own experience growing up in foster care, one of the brothers chose the name Foster. Foster keeps an "eagle's eye" on foster children. He often heads for Queen Mum's office, making sure that young children are safe and cared for.

Those in foster care do not all react the same way. Foster likes to stay close to home to keep an eye on other foster children. His brother Jimmy, on the other hand, travels the world, meeting as many children as he can. He has even flown to China. He says that there are so many children to know and love.

Written by:  Nanny Kay; Aunt Chelsea, R. M. Duckenbisler, Words for short; Honey, the bee; Harmony, the dove; Daisy, the doe; Red, the fox; Howard, the horse; and Harry, the owl and many others who volunteer, assisting Chelsea the stork in his mission to be available to children.

The Grand Marshal and Queen Mum both agreed with Nanny Kay that children should be able to sleep undisturbed. The two birds went back to their island and met with the owls, who lived in the neighboring village. Grand Marshal and Harry the owl often discussed their concerns about the world. After hearing what Nanny Kay had told the Grand Marshal and Queen Mum, the owls agreed with the storks that something had to be done; they decided to create a safe playground using the magic that belongs to the island, the storks and owls created a place where children could play, inside their dreams. Every night the storks gather the children after they have fallen asleep and bring them to this special playground. Nanny Kay spread the word to all of the other nannies. Soon Castle Land was known as a peaceful place for children to go while they slept.

The playground was created many years ago when a nanny, known to her charges as Nanny Kay, met the Grand Marshal and Queen Mum.  They saw each other in a children's park one afternoon. After introductions and interesting conversation, Nanny asked the two storks, well known for their love of children, if they would help her. She needed a safe place for her children to go to when they slept. Nanny’s job was to raise five motherless children who had lived through a frightening war. The children’s nights were disturbed by memories of the war. Nanny needed a safe place, free of nightmares, for the children to spend their nights.

Castle Land is home to many wonderful storks. It is a favorite place for children of the world to play safely while they sleep. The best and largest playground, filled with all the things that children love to play on, is right in front of the castle. This playground is so special that children are in charge of what happens. They can play with whom they want in any safe way they choose.

Grand Marshal is the oldest male in Chelsea's clan. He reigns supreme as the patriarch of this wonderful family of storks. Proud of the castle that he found for his mate's nest, he has always cared well for his family. He leads by example, meeting many of their needs.

Queen Mum is the matriarch. She pays close attention to the needs of her flock and all of the other birds and animals in the Village. Queen Mum tries to protect everyone from danger. Everyone is aware of Queen Mum’s concern and kindness. She often helps to prevent and solve problems on Castle Land and in the Village. Her very special mission is to protect the children of the world when and where she can.

Mother Chelsea proudly wears a pink top hat.  She is well known as the mother of the popular bird, Chelsea, who showed his love for all children by bringing gift baskets to parents of new babies in the hospitals.
